1.) I did not know it was the OS that is responsible for starting and shutting down the computer, I always thought it was done thru the Hard Drive.
2.) I was not aware that there is two ways to communicate with the OS. I have always used the windows provided, this is the graphical user interface or GUI. The other way to communicate to the OS to preform functions, such as shutting down, is thru the command line interface.
3.) I did not know that it is the OS that is responsible for determining which order tasks are completed in.
4.) I did not know it was the OS that provided a means for connecting to the internet, on the laptop that I have I thought it just had to have a WiFi card and the program files on the hard drive.
5.) I did not know it was the OS that allows you to manage/search for files, view images, and/or secure your computer. I thought these were individual tasks related to a coordinating card/program file.

Assignment 2
For this assignment we were instructed to research two web pages, one in the area of our degree plan and the other in a different area of personal interest to us not associated with our degree plan.
Here is the first page that I found meeting the criteria and it is associated with my degree plan.
This page is an informational page about owing/operating a equine related business in the state of Texas. The information on the page relates to what liabilities are associated with the owing/operation of a equine related business. This information helps a person make business related decisions based on what type of liability the individual would feel most comfortable with based on there experience with in the industry.
This page further defines what a equine activity means form a court of law point of view, it also defines what the term equine means, meaning which of the species of equines are included with in the liability clause.
Another page that I visited was one dealing in a horse signs on this web page one can view several different signs that are offered thru many different e retailers.
This site offers consumer to consumer, business to business as well as business to consumer purchases.
The signs on this web page are serious to amusing. Not all of them would be appropriate for a business environment.
The second page that I chose is the Internet Movie Database, IMDB
On this web site there are several pages in which one can research their favorite movies and get all of the available information about the movies such as actors, directors, special guest stars, supporting roles, etc.
On this web page I researched movies such as Star Wars and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo . One of the movies is an old favorite of mine and the other is soon to be released. The web site provides both a current look at the movies themselves as well as an in depth history/background of what the movie is about. You can also find information such as leading roles, little known facts and other roles some of the actors have played.
